Moving Bodies: Capture and Control in Late Farocki

Description
At the time of his sudden death in 2014, Harun Farocki was at work on a project about the history of motion capture and the chronophotographic experiments of √Čtienne-Jules Marey and Eadweard Muybridge. Based on an examination of the corpus of footage Farocki assembled for the project and his correspondence about it with collaborator Matthias Rajmann, this presentation by Dr Erika Balsom (King's College London) will speculatively chart the inchoate propositions of a final installation we will never see.
