MGCI Annual Lecture - Plantation to Nation: Museums and Caribbean Identity

Description
The Museums, Galleries and Collections Institute (MGCI) was set up for research, education and training in cultural heritage, with a particular focus on museums, art galleries and historic houses, and their collections. Each year, MGCI hosts an annual lecture on various topics. This year, in an event organised by MGCI staff in collaboration with EU-LAC-MUSEUMS, Alissandra Cummins, Director of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, will discuss 'Plantation to Nation: Museums and Caribbean Identity'.

MGCI Annual Lecture schedule: 5.30 Drinks Reception, School of Art History, 79 North Street; 6.30 Annual Lecture, Upper College Hall, United College Quadrangle The annual lecture is organised by the MGCI staff: Dr Karen E Brown, Ann Gunn, Dr Ulrike Weiss, Nicôle Meehan and Jamie Allan Brown. It is supported by the School of Art History and organised in collaboration with the EU-LAC-MUSEUMS project.
