Pathologies of Leadership in Greek Epic and Tragedy

Description
This academic year the Graduate School at St Leonard's College is pleased to present a series of seminars taking an interdisciplinary view of leaders and leadership. In this seminar, open to all University staff and postgraduates, Dr Hesk looks at how many Greek tragedies depict and discuss what can go wrong when a king or tyrant makes bad choices. The seminar will explore the ways in which these ancient texts imply the importance of justice and intellectual virtue for good leadership by staging the pathologies of elite leadership in the city and on the battlefield.
