Maths Week Scotland: Mathematics and its Applications

This event requires that you pre-register or buy tickets.

Description
Join researchers from the Universities of Abertay, Dundee and St Andrews to discover how maths can be used to understand the world around us. Come and try a range of hands-on activities and experiments, exploring fields as diverse as the beauty of fractals to some surprising properties of fluid flow. Hear how maths is being used to generate realistic images in computer games, to understand how the Sun works or how small cells control processes in a human body, and find out why Chaos effects all our lives.
