Description
Discover more about the people of the University of St Andrews in the last in a series of conversations with the Chaplain, Revd Dr Donald MacEwan. Tonight Professor Ineke De Moortel, Director of Research in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, will discuss her path to the University, her thoughts on the future of education and what inspires her research. A Professor in Applied Mathematics since 2013, Professor De Moortel’s teaching and research in solar and magnetospheric theory involves coronal heating and properties of MHD wave propagation in the solar corona (e.g phase mixing, wave damping, mode coupling), coronal seismology, forward modelling and wavelet analysis.
