Success: Carnegie Trust Research Incentive Grant

6 February 2020

Research Fellow Dr Matthew Warke has been awarded a Carnegie Trust Research Incentive Grant for his proposal, “Did ‘snowball Earth’ glaciations trigger the Great Oxidation Event?”. This work is in collaboration with Prof Simon Poulton at the University of Leeds. Dr Warke will examine the the stable sulphur isotope geochemistry from a sequence of post-glacial rocks from South Africa to determine the extent to which the atmosphere was oxygenated in the aftermath of one of the most severe glaciations in Earth history.
