Being a Postgraduate Student at St Mary's
Our postgraduate community comprises students undertaking PG Diplomas, MLitts, MPhils and PhDs.
Most are here on campus, others are distance learners who attend for a study week at the beginning of each semester. Many of our part-time research students study at their own locations in the UK and around the world.
The key contacts for postgraduates are our PG Secretary, PG Officer and Distance Learning Officer all of whose contact details are available here.
In this part of the site you will find details of subject-specific research seminars and links to the University's GradSkills programme as well as information for postgraduates who are employed as tutors for our undergraduate degree programmes.
An important annual event is the Scottish Universities Postgraduate Research Day. Arrangements have been made for research students and staff of the major Divinity/Theology Faculties in Scotland to hold exchange visits once a year. Details of this year's programme will be advertised.
Support, beyond the academic, is a significant aspect of postgraduate life here at St Mary's. For those on campus opportunities regularly arise for social events organised by students and the faculty. Distance learning students make the most of their few days each year in St Andrews and continue to build supportive relationships by email, webcam and social networking online.
