For more than six hundred years, legacies have made a vital contribution to the life of the University of St Andrews, with the support of earlier generations creating an enduring foundation for the success of future students.
The Chancellor’s Circle was founded in 2011 to recognise and thank those generous alumni and friends who have chosen to remember St Andrews in their will during their lifetime.
Since the launch, legacy bequests have supported many exciting projects including the redevelopment of our Sports Centre, the Laidlaw Music Centre and the Scottish Oceans Institute. In addition, a significant number of people have established undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships.
Everybody who leaves a legacy or makes a bequest to St Andrews is invited to join the Chancellor’s Circle to thank them for this very personal support. Two events are hosted every year in the UK by the Chancellor, Lord Campbell of Pittenweem – one in Scotland and one in England – and the US Chancellor’s Circle was launched in April 2019 with events in New York City and Washington DC.
Leaving a legacy will shape the future of the University. If you would like to be part of this quest, please contact the legacy team on +44 (0)1334 462030 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
