Donate to Volunteer Zambia
Our international volunteer projects offer students a wonderful opportunity to add value to their university education, enhance their global awareness and develop their leadership, coaching and teaching skills.
St Andrews is part of the Wallace Group, a partnership created in 2004 by several leading UK universities to support sports development for young people in Zambia.
Each summer, student volunteers from St Andrews team up with students from six other UK Universities, and travel to Zambia to support the work of local NGO Sport in Action. During the eight-week project our student coaches help to deliver PE sessions, sport specific coaching sessions for football, netball, basketball and volleyball, and some classroom based sessions in various schools and compounds in Lusaka.
The students spend the year prior to leaving for Zambia planning, preparing and fundraising for the trip. The students are set collective and individual fundraising targets that they have to meet in order to participate.
To support their work, please choose ‘Volunteer Zambia: Sport’ from the drop-down menu of our donation form.
