London Art and Artist's Guide 13th edition 2020

The new updated 13th edition covers all the art world changes in contemporary art, but also lists museums, Old Masters and Asian art galleries, contemporary art galleries, art bookshops, art materials, useful art addresses. There are interviews with a contemporary art dealer Charlotte Schepke and with Hester Baldwin of Green & Stone art materials. The cover artists are Peter Harrap and Natasha Kissell in their studio.

Collecting Photographs covers information about collecting in the UK and overseas and how photography has risen in popularity and prices for both vintage and contemporary prints. The Introduction covers all the latest developments such as the huge Museum of London move to Smithfields area, a £332 million project, and the National Portrait Gallery £32 million renovation which will take until 2023 with the gallery closed until then from the summer of 2020. The V&A East project in the Stratford area is also a mammoth task and adds to the V&A in South Kensington and in Dundee.

The east end of London and the Olympic legacy are changing London with huge arts projects and companies such as Sadlers Wells, University of the Arts creating new buildings in this area. The London section at the back covers parks, markets, travel and an article about Multicultural London and various nationalities that have settled in London since early days.

Heather Waddell is the author/photographer and has been writing about art for many years for newspapers, in books, on BBC TV World news and internationally. 20 of her b/w photo portraits of artists are in the photography collection at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
