18th Australian Conference on Social and Environmental Accounting Research 

The School of Accounting at University of New South Wales looks forward to welcoming you at the 18th Australasian Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (ACSEAR) Conference, to be held at the Australian Graduate School of Management, Australia on 11-13 December 2019.

The theme of the conference is “Rebuilding trust through transparency” and the plenary speakers include: Prof Steven Cahan of University of Auckland, Professor of Practice Merran Kelsall, UNSW Sydney, Mardi McBrien of the Climate Disclosure Standards Board and Assoc Prof Justine Nolan, UNSW Law.

The Emerging Scholars’ Colloquium (ESC) will be held on 11 December 2019 and the main conference on 12?13 December 2019 with a gala dinner on 12 December 2019.

Dates to remember:  

  • Deadline for ESC and full papers: 30 September 2019
  • Response to authors: 30 October 2019
  • Early bird registration deadline: 15 November 2019
  • Registration opens on 23rd August 2019.

Australasian CSEAR (ACSEAR) Conference 2017

The Australasian CSEAR (ACSEAR) Conference 2017 will be held on 8th and 9th December 2017 and will be hosted by University of the South Pacific, Fiji It will be immediately preceded by an Emerging Scholars Colloquium on the 7th December.

ACSEAR Conference 2016

The 2016 Australasian - Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (A-CSEAR) Conference will be hosted by The Centre for Accounting, Governance and Sustainability, University of South Australia from the 7 to 9 December 2016. 

The Emerging Scholars Colloquium will be held on the 7 December and the main conference will be held on 8-9 Dec 2016.

The theme of the conference is “Connecting with Nature” as participants will have the opportunity to connect with flora and fauna at the Adelaide Zoo venue.

12th CSEAR Australasia

The 12th A-CSEAR Conference is being hosted by the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand, from 1st to 3rd December 2013, with a colloquium on the 30th of November. The theme of the conference is "Social and Environmental Accounting: Past, Present, and Future". Plenary speakers include Gordon Boyce, Al Gillespie, James Guthrie and Juliet Roper.

13th CSEAR Australasia

Sincere apologies but the 13th A-CSEAR Conference 2014 due to be held at La Trobe University Sunday 30 November to Tuesday 2 December 2014, HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES. It has not been possible to reschedule this conference.

The next A-CSEAR Conference is likely to be held at Macquarie University in Nov/December 2015. Further details will be provided once known.

This theme reflects the importance of recognising the impact of organisational practices on both human and environmental existence and thereby the significance of giving voice to both people & place in the context of social and environmental reporting.
