Coronavirus information and guidance

Caregivers and parents

The University recognises that working from home during coronavirus will pose difficulties for everyone, but especially those with additional responsibilities and caring roles.

Policies for carers and special leave

The coronavirus staff FAQs provide specific and update guidance under the current circumstances, particularly in relation to difficulties faced by those balancing caring responsibilities and homeworking.

St Andrews staff parents and carers network

The University's Staff Parents and Carers Network has established an MS Teams group to offer a virtual space in which staff with caring responsibilities can support each other and share advice. If you would like to be added to this group, please contact diversity@st-andrews.ac.uk

Resources for keeping family and friends engaged and entertained

For those of you with children to entertain at home, look out for Problem Solvers. Join Matt from Museums and a different guest each month to meet problem solvers from the past, explore their big ideas and solve a challenge for today. Each month, you’ll do experiments inspired by something at the Wardlaw Museum, meet an expert from the University of St Andrews and try to solve a problem we face in the world today.

The ever-popular Wee Wardlaws session for under 5s is also going digital, bringing you rhymes, stories, activities and crafts inspired by our collections.

You can also watch previous episodes of Museums events.

Join the Museums' Facebook page to tune in:

  • Problem Solvers: second Saturday of the month at 10am
  • Wee Wardlaws: first Friday of the month at 10am.
