Archaeology at St Andrews

Centres and Archaeology

The University has a Centre for Archaeology, CATCH. The Centre brings together colleagues involved in archaeology from the Faculties of Arts and Sciences. For a list of staff involved see staff with Archaeological Interests. The Centre for Late Antique Studies and the Centre for Landscapes studies are also concerned with a number of archaeological research projects.

Archaeology workshops

The School of Classics and the Museum Collections Unit within the University are offering practical archaeology sessions for students in primary and secondary schools in Fife and Tayside.

Different types of workshops are available including handling sessions of the Cypriot Pottery collection and more structured workshops on a series of topics, such as excavation and finds.
