The Chaplaincy Prize

Tristan Sharman - 2020-21 Chaplaincy Prize winner

Tristan Sharman - 2020-21 Prize Winner

This new prize has been established through the generous donation of monies received through the University of St Andrews American Foundation.  This prize, awarded each year, will be open to all current students and based around a particular theme for an original piece of creative work, essay or poem.

The Prize entries for 2020-21

Thank you to all those who submitted an entry for this year's prize theme of 'The Environment'.  Entrants were asked to show a passion for, or connection to, the environment with a faith or spiritual element.  The judging panel were overwhelmed by the outstanding quality of all the entries received, 35 in total.

Entries have now been read and judged and we are delighted to announce the overall winner is Tristan Sharman for his 'My Faith in the Environment' short film with poem entitled 'My modern day life...'.  Tristan is in his 2nd year of an MA (Hons) Geography degree.

The winning entry is available to view on YouTube.

A runner-up was also chosen by the panel, a poem entitled 'Inosculation' written by PhD Divinity student, Katelynn Carver.

Congratulations to both of our winners!

The theme for the 2021/22 award will be announced soon.
