Student Society PSC Prize

The Student Society PSC Prize is awarded to the society committee which best demonstrates engagement with professional skills development through the Professional Skills Curriculum (PSC).

Prizes are:

  • First place: £200
  • Runner up: £100

Prizes will be awarded based on:

  • the amount the society committee has engaged with the PSC
  • evidence of how engagement with the PSC has impacted the society.

Nominees will be shortlisted by CEED and the Students' Association Director of Student Development and Activities (DoSDA), and the prize made by the Awards Committee.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the prize:

  • The society must be affiliated with the Students’ Association.
  • The President, Secretary and Treasurer must have completed at least one PSC workshop in the year the society is applying for the prize (verified through gaining a PSC stamp).

How to apply

When the submission period opens, you should email an application to both dosda@st-andrews.ac.uk and profskills@st-andrews.ac.uk. The submission date is publicised on the Students’ Association society awards page.

Your application should be a written account (maximum 500 words) of how the society has benefited from professional skills development. For example:

  • Have new behaviours or processes been implemented?
  • Has there been an impact on the way the committee operates?
  • Has there been a wider impact on the members of the society?
  • How has the committee encouraged members to develop their own professional skills?
