npower Forecasting Challenge

Do you consider yourself to have strong analytical and numerical skills? Are you looking for an entry into one of the biggest energy companies in the UK, along with a bonus cash reward?  We are challenging you, to beat our energy forecast – with the winners earning an internship at npower and a £1000 prize!

  • In teams of no more than 4 people, you will be sent 3 rounds of weather data over the course of 4 weeks; you will need to analyse the data and produce a model for energy consumption during a set time period.
  • The top 5 most accurate teams will then be invited to attend a grand finale at our offices, where they will present their model to our experts and the winning team will be announced.
  • Team registrations are open until Thursday 2nd November. The first round of data will be sent over on 3rd November.

Landmark Earth Model Award 2017

  • We welcome submissions from recently completed Masters students with geoscience projects relating to natural resource exploration
  • There is a financial award for student winners and their universities, as well as an opportunity to present the research at an industry event in 2018.

Fulbright Scholarships 2018-19 - for UK citizens to study in the USA

Fulbright is the only organisation that offers scholarships for academic work in any subject, at any accredited US university.  Each year, the Fulbright Commissions gives awards to approximately 20-25 UK postgraduates.

Aardvark Swift Recruitment - Search for a Star

Search for a Star & Sumo Digital Rising Star is a student game dev challenges ran by leading games industry recruitment agency, Aardvark Swift, along with top UK studios! Students at every year of university education are invited to compete, with Search for a Star designed for students in their final year or on Masters courses, and Sumo Digital Rising Star for students who aren’t yet in their final year.

Net Lawman Scholarship Programme

Net Lawman is a legal documents retailer, selling both templates that you can download and edit yourself and personalised contracts that are tailored to your circumstances based on your answers to web-based questionnaires.

Our scholarship awards are designed to help students with start-up costs, whether investment in IT, stationery, business administration or learning tools.

We have two awards each year: One scholarship of £800 (eight hundred British pounds) One scholarship of £500 (five hundred British pounds) In addition, successful applicants will receive legal documents to the value of £250.

CodeVita Challenge

CodeVita is a global online coding contest for university students from across the world. NextAI

NEXT Canada, a national non-profit supporting high potential entrepreneurs is now accepting applications for the 2018 cohort of NextAI, a Toronto-based accelerator focused on commercializing research and launching AI-enabled startups.

NextAI joins Next 36 and Next Founders as the third NEXT Canada program for high potential entrepreneurs and innovators. They will select high potential individuals and teams from around the world looking to launch AI-enabled businesses. NextAI will provide seed capital, expert advice, and the latest AI tools that program participants will need to launch AI solutions in growing technology markets around the world.

NextAI runs annually from late January to September, recruiting up to 20 teams from post doctorate, graduate and undergraduate programs, as well as industry professionals. NextAI launched with founding corporate partners that include BDC Capital, Magna, RBC and Scotiabank. Participants will have access to tools, platforms and experts from tech giants including IBM, NVIDIA, Google, Microsoft and more.

NextAI offers a unique combination of resources to program participants, including:

  • Funding. Up to $200K per venture. 50K upon commencement of program in February 2018.
  • Founder Development. In-depth business and technical education taught by award-winning global faculty and subject matter experts. A curriculum focused on AI technologies and business foundation skills.
  • Access to Leading AI Technologies and Tools. Unique access to platforms and people at tech giants including IBM, NVIDIA, Google, Amazon and more.

Shell Springboard

Shell International Limited’s enterprise support programme for UK’s innovative low-carbon businesses is now open for applications. Shell Springboard will award one national winner £150,000, and a further five regional winners will each get £40,000 of equity-free funding to help grow their low-carbon businesses.
