What has been your route to getting your current position?
1 - Systems Supervisor in the Saudi FDA: leading a Mission-Critical and Life-Critical business applications (i.e. Drug Evaluation Systems, Lab Information management Systems). 2 - Studying in St Andrews by itself gave me a great exposure of course. 3 - Projects Manager in the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON): Improving the G2B business processes and Website Marketing campaigns. 4 - Senior IT Business Partner at SABIC : IT Business Alignment has been crucial for operational excellence. 5 - Made a bold move to lead a Management Consulting company. The most challenging role. Yet, the most rewarding on a personal level where you can innovate, succeed or fail and when you fail you can fail fast.

Strategic Analysis and Management, Digital Transformation , Cyber Resilience and Social Computing.
Why were you successful?
Leading a Mission-Critical and Life-Critical Projects in the Saudi FDA enriched my journey. Working in a Saudi Global Company that recently acquired GE Plastics as an IT Business Partner gave me a good visibility of key business issues. - Co-Founding the Excellence Dayz Conference (www.excellencedayz.com) was interesting and gave me a great opportunity to start public speaking practices. - Last but not least, Studying at St Andrews gave me a great exposure and credibility as well.
What skills/ knowledge from your degree have you found particularly helpful in this role?
Strategic Management, Business Marketing (B2B), HRM, Systems Thinking, Market Research, Writing.
What advice would you give to students wishing to follow the same path?
Invest some time and money in developing Facilitation Skills and Graphics Facilitation skills will be of a great value as well. - Digital Transformation is revamping traditional business aspects (ie value Chain , Business processes Management, Supply and Demand etc). Therefore, Management students should keep in mind that emergent technologies are not only part of IT People responsibilities and they need to embrace them properly. Automation, Cyber Security and Analytics will be hot topics for Management graduates and not only IT graduates. - Continuous feedback from those who care about you is the best performance management system you can think of.
