University Postgraduate Researcher Induction

The University Postgraduate Researcher Induction and Essentials sessions are intended to help you make a smooth transition from undergraduate/masters study or the workplace to postgraduate research student.  The Induction will explain the University structures, policies and procedures that apply to you as you undertake a doctoral or other research degree. Presenters for the Induction include the Provost and Pro Dean (Research Postgraduate), as well as current Postgraduate Researchers, senior academic staff and alumni (on their perspectives of research).

Induction happens three times each academic year in order to accommodate different start dates - you only need to sign up to one Induction.  All Inductions are open to students from all disciplines.  Please attend the Induction nearest to your start date.

In addition to a morning Induction, you will sign up for one afternoon Postgraduate Researcher Essentials session.  These are designed to introduce you to the full range of support and advice available to you as postgraduate research student, so that your time at St Andrews will be as rewarding and productive as possible.  There are several sessions at various times in the first semester, and one session in the second semester - please choose whichever session fits best with your schedule.
