Application process

If you wish to register for the Passport to Research Futures programme please complete the following steps:

Prior to signing up, please discuss your participation with your line manager: in order to place a request on a programme you must enter the name and University email address of your line manager during the request process.

An email will be sent to them if you are allocated a place on the programme. Please therefore ensure that you have discussed your participation before signing up.

  1. View the list of Programmes in PDMS
  2. Click ‘Request place’ and sign into PDMS
  3. Enter the name and University email address of your line manager or supervisor
  4. Click ‘Submit’

Once your application has been submitted: receipt of your application form will immediately be acknowledged by email. If you do not receive this acknowledgment within a few minutes, please check your junk folder.

Your application will be reviewed, and you will receive a further response informing you of the outcome.

If successful, your Passport Administrator will be in touch to arrange a Passport Orientation Session.

Tracking your progress

Once accepted onto the programme, you will be able to view which activities you have already completed (including activities in the 3 years prior to programme sign-up), which you have booked and which you still have to complete.

Login to your PDMS Training Record where your Programme Courses and your Individual Courses attendance record will appear.

Your Passport Administrator will also be able to view your progress.

Prior learning

If you have attended similar training elsewhere we can 'Accredit Prior Learning' provided you can provide evidence that proves completion and allows us to map the content against our own standards.
