Passport to Research Futures

A development programme for research staff

Career planning, professional development and employability…

The Passport to Research Futures is a structured development programme for early career researchers designed to focus thinking about career planning, professional development and employability.  It has been recognised by the Institute for Leadership and Management (ILM).

The programme includes a range of development activities, including:

Registering your application

If you wish to register for the Passport to Research Futuressimply complete and submit the online Passport to Research Futures application form

You will be asked to indicate which of the programme components (if any) you have already completed within the last two years. If you have attended similar training elsewhere we can 'Accredit Prior Learning' provided you can provide evidence that proves completion and allows us to map the content against our own standards. 

Once your application has been submitted ...

Receipt of your application form will immediately be acknowledged by email. If you do not receive this acknowledgment within a few minutes, please check your junk folder. Your application will be reviewed and you will receive a further response informing you of the outcome. If accepted onto the programme the first activity will be to arrange a orientation meeting with the programme coordinator.

Once you have joined the Passport to Research Futures you remain on the programme for two years and during this time will have priority access to all the included development activities.

Please note that it will be your responsibility to maintain your Passport to Research Futures (PRF) profile, and update this to reflect completion of programme components. You will be provided with instructions on how to log in to your profile. Once you have completed the necessary component to qualify fro the in-house and/or ILM certificate, please contact the scheme coordinator. We will verify your attendance records and will confirm completion.
