Passport to Estates Cleaning Excellence

This development programme, for Estates Cleaning staff, comprises of training modules relating to both tasks and interpersonal skills.  It has been developed as part of a collaboration between CAPOD and Estates.  The programme is delivered by staff from Estates, CAPOD and other key units within the University.

Please note, participants require their manager's permission to take part in the programme.

Objectives

  • Deliver key skills training to all estates Cleaning staff;

  • Develop confidence in all aspects of the role;

  • Recognise professionalism & achievement.

Workshops / Training

The training will be delivered through two main strands, each strand focuses on different areas of development.  You can book a place on the workshops via PDMS: https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/pdms

Task Related training modules

Delivered by Cleaning Supervisors & Estates staff.

Specific modules related to cleaning, health and safety and expected standards.

Interpersonal Skills training

Delivered by CAPOD staff and other key unit staff within the University.

Additional relevant information

Key features & completion of Passport.

Each participant is issues with a Passport Booklet, where key learning points (from modules) can be recorded & a record of learning kept.  For each workshop (or part of programme) completed, a stamp is added to the passport to record progress throughout your journey.  The passports can be referred to in the future and enables review & reflection.

 

Pre-accreditation for any modules completed recently, prior to the beginning of the programme, can be accredited to participants to save repeating the module.  When requesting your passport, please mention the modules / workshops you would like accredited.

 

To keep all the materials, referencing resources, handouts and passport booklet together, all participants will receive a programme folder.  This will help keep everything together and safe, so you know where to find it when you need it.

 

On completion, each participant is presented with a signed certificate, and a group picture is taken of the graduates.
