What is Business Intelligence?

The Business Intelligence (BI) Team at the University of St Andrews work with data owners across the University to combine data from various sources and present it in an interactive report called a dashboard.

Dashboards enable users to explore data and find the information they need without requiring technical expertise in information systems.

Some dashboards assist with operational tasks such as monitoring financial budgets, while others provide management information to aid decision making, such as comparing the numbers of University applicants year on year.

All dashboards are developed in-house by the BI Team using software called QlikView. Our applications are used in all Schools and Units across the University.
