I joined the School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film studies as Departmental Secretary in September 2002. Initially I shared my time between the Departments of Philosophy and Social Anthropology before moving permanently to the Department of Social Anthropology in early 2003.
As Departmental Secretary it is my job to create a link between students and staff, the Department and School. I am the first point of contact for all external visitors to the Department, whether they are prospective students, visiting Scholars, Speakers or conference attendees, and provide advice and support where necessary. I manage the departmental website, am responsible for the production of all course & module handbooks at the beginning of each session, and am course administrator for all things relating to Honours and Postgraduate modules. I also provide the secretarial support to our academic staff in their Administrative roles, which includes the Chair of the Department, Exams Officer, Admissions Officer and Disabilities Officer.
The departmental office is the heart of Social Anthropology where the atmosphere is warm and friendly and is a helpful place for all our visitors. Please drop in if we can help in any way!
