There may be some enabling construction work carried out on site at Albany Park from February/March 2018 to allow the redevelopment of the site in late 2018.  The extent of the work is not known at this time but we will keep you posted as soon as we have information.

Construction works at Gatty Marine, East Sands, 10th July 2017 - November 2018

To maintain its position as an internationally renowned centre for marine research, the University is building a multi-school aquarium, experimental facility and research building at East Sands to replace the existing facilities. The New Gatty Marine Centre, adjacent to Albany Park will create one of the most advanced research aquaria in Europe, support world-class research now and in the future and enable visitors and members of the community to access and better understand the science taking place here.

The project starts on 10thJuly and is scheduled to finish at the end of November 2018.  During this period part of the car park at Albany Park will be partitioned off to house construction equipment and vehicles.  There will be fencing in place around parts of the site to facilitate access for construction vehicles and staff but the student houses will at all times be fully accessible.

Our construction company is very aware that they must do everything possible to avoid uneccessary impact on the experience of students, and construction teams will follow flexible work patterns to reduce potential disruption, especially at critical times such as exam period.
