Returning Undergraduates: Information and Application Form

In February 2017 1396 returning students applied for halls of residence for academic session 2017-18. 1310 returning students were offered a place.  For academic session 2018-19 we have an additional 389 rooms in total being built at Agnes Blackadder Hall and University Hall and Andrew Melville Hall will reopen.  

If you are intending to apply to live as a returning student in a University Residence after your first year, you are able to do so in February of the year of entry. Please see below for more information on how to apply.  You are advised to specifically refer to the Allocation Policy detailed below.

Online applications have now closed.  If you are a returning student and did not apply for accommodation for 2018-19 we still have rooms available in some of our residences.  Please email accommodation@st-andrews.ac.uk for further information.

Students with financial Hardship can apply for an Accommodation Award.  All applications will open on 2nd April and close 28th April.  

All Catered standard Residences, and John Burnet Annexe will close during the Christmas Vacation and the inter-semester break from 10am 22 December 2018 until 23 January 2019.  With the exception of Whitehorn Hall.

Groups applying for our Managed Accommodation and who are interested in a specific property should arrange to view the accommodation and then after applying online by 12th February, submit two references for each member of the group to Student Accommodation Services by 12 noon on 16th February 2018.   References should be from a current or previous landlord or, warden of a current hall of residence, not from a parent or other family member.  Groups should list in order of preference the properties they want to apply for in the notes field of the e-application and on the outside of their envelope containing their references.
