Chancellor's Circle - Autumn 2017

Wednesday 08 November 2017

We established the Chancellor’s Circle in November 2011 to recognise and thank those generous alumni and friends who have chosen to remember the University of St Andrews in their will during their lifetime.

We hold two annual events (one in Scotland and one in the South of England) to celebrate the contribution of this remarkable group of people. The second event of 2017 was held at Lower College Hall on Saturday 4 November.

Principal Professor Sally Mapstone joined the Chancellor, Lord Campbell of Pittenweem and other invited guests at a seated afternoon tea, followed by presentations from Dr Helen Rawson and Mrs Emma-Jane Wells, Co-Directors of the Museum Collections. Helen and Emma-Jane showcased some of the Collections' recent acquisitions and gave guests an update on the recently announced extension to the MUSA building on The Scores.

Guests also had an opportunity to join one of two bespoke curatorial tours of MUSA before the event at Lower College Hall.

In the future, we hope to widen the impact of our message, increase membership of the Circle and introduce Circle members and interested donors and friends to some of the wonderful projects that planned giving would help the University to realise.
