On the afternoon of Saturday 14 September, St Andrews hosted a summit to debate the future of universities. The summit gave a panel of diverse speakers, each with distinct and specialised knowledge of higher education, the opportunity to present their ideas and to engage with an audience of distinguished external guests, academics at St Andrews and students.

The summit's legacy lies in the opportunity this event offers for the leading thinkers in higher education from around the world to assess the enduring value of universities. The summit's ultimate goal is to generate ideas that will go on to play a significant role on the development of higher education and research policy.
