As Scotland’s first university, our prime concern has always been to serve Scottish society.
But from earliest days we have also looked beyond our own shores and contributed to matters of global concern.
Today we are more engaged with events on the world stage than ever. In 2012 we received a £1 million gift to the Campaign which has allowed us to establish a Chair in Global Health Implementation. Building on the University's long-standing connections with Malawi's College of Medicine, an interdisiplinary programme has been established which examines issues that affect the delivery of healthcare in the developing world.
