Frank Wright Memorial Lecture

On Wednesday 6th March 2013, Dr Tim Wilson delivered the annual Frank Wright memorial lecture at the School of Politics, International Studies and Philosophy at the Queen's University, Belfast. His lecture, given under the title 'Vibrating with Murder: Frank Wright and the Idea of Representative Violence' honoured the contribution of Wright in illuminating the significance of sectarian conflict to the study of political violence.

Paperback Edition of CSTPV Scholar's Book on Hamas and Suicide Terrorism

A paperback edition has just been published of CSTPV Lecturer Rashmi Singh’s study of Hamas and suicide terrorism. Originally published in hardback in January 2011, the paperback edition of Hamas and Suicide Terrorism: Multi-casual and Multi-level Approaches (London: Routledge) was released in December 2012. The volume analyses the root causes of suicide terrorism at both the elite and rank-and- file levels of the organisation and also explains why this tactic has disappeared in the post-2006 period.

New Edition of CSTPV Director's Book on the IRA

A new, updated edition has just been published of CSTPV Director Richard English's award-winning study of the IRA. Originally published in 2003, this new edition of Armed Struggle: The History of the IRA (Pan Macmillan, 2012) brings the story of the organisation up to the present day, dealing with the gradual disappearance of the Provisional IRA and the emergence of new, Dissident versions of the movement.
