The above photo shows the circuit for the common-emitter amplifier. Remember that your resistor values may well be different to those shown as you have a different transistor. Also note that the capacitors used for this experiment are polarised. This means they should be connected with any applied D.C. the ‘correct’ way around. If you connect then incorrectly, your circuit may not work properly, and the capacitor may be damaged. There will be some kind of mark on the capacitor’s package to indicate which lead is +ve or -ve. If not sure, ask a demonstrator.
