This experiment is different to most of the others as you have to connect two resistors, but then disconnect them again once you have finished. For this reason, use the arrangement shown where the resistors are ‘part of the leads’. Connect these using holes as close to the edges of the board as you can so leave as much of the board undamaged when they are removed.

Once you have finished experiment 4, carefully remove the resistors. The use the circuit board and transistor for experiment 5. This ensures that the values obtained from experiment 4 are the ones required for experiment 5.
