Modular Ultrafast Sources for Integrated Control - As mentioned on our research page, MUSIC is a joint project which seeks to lead the way in the development of a new generation of ultrafast lasers.
This link will take you to the EPSRCs 'Basic Technology Research Programme' project which aims to solve the problem of integrating micro- and nanoscale components of chemically dissimilar materials. Varoius members of W-Sqaud are involved in this project.
This link will take you to the ARAKNES project which is focused on innovative robotic system for endoluminal surgery. Varoius members of W-Sqaud are involved in this project.
The Biophotonics Collaboration
The University of St Andrews has established a strong multidisciplinary biomedical photonics collaboration between researchers in physics, biology, medicine, and chemistry. The core remit of the collaboration is to exploit novel emerging photonics techniques in the study and treatment of disease processes at the cellular and molecular levels. Several members of W-Squad are involved in this work.
This comprehensive open-access encyclopedia, authored by Dr. RĂ¼diger Paschotta and provided by RP Photonics Consulting GmbH, explains the physical principles and common techniques in laser technology, while also covering major areas of fiber-optic technology and nonlinear optics, and addressing supplementary topics like ultrashort pulses, optical communications, general optics, optoelectronics, and quantum optics.
Web of Knowledge is a platform providing access to the ISI Web of Science databases - Science Citation Index, SocialSciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index and to the ISI Proceedings database. Each citation database indexes the core journals in its wide general area including, in addition to research and scholarly articles, all significant items such as book and other reviews, editorials, letters, and biographical material.
Optics InfoBase is OSA's online repository of both current and past volumes of all its journals. It also contains recent proceedings from OSA conferences. The InfoBase search engine allows users to find articles with simple search, advanced search, and lookup/browse and includes advanced features such as topical clustering.
COMS - Conference Online-Managment System
