Professor Louise Richardson
President
The Club is delighted to have the Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Louise Richardson, as its President.
Professor Richardson took up her office at St Andrews in January 2009, prior to which she was Executive Dean of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University. A political scientist by training, Professor Richardson has specialised in international security with an emphasis on terrorist movements. Her publications include: What Terrorists Want: Understanding the Enemy, Containing the Threat (2006); The Roots of Terrorism (2006); Democracy and Counterterrorism: Lessons from the Past (2007), and When Allies Differ (1996). She has written numerous articles on international terrorism, British foreign and defence policy, security institutions, and international relations. She serves on the editorial board of the journals "Security Studies" and "Democracy and Security". Professor Richardson was awarded the Sumner Prize for work towards the prevention of war and the establishment of universal peace.

James North
Chairman
James graduated from St Andrews with an MA in Modern History and International Relations in June 2003. He moved to London soon after, and for 2 years was Special Advisor to the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport and Environment in the Conservative Research Department. From 2005 to 2008, James was Chief of Staff to the Leader of Birmingham City Council, acting as the principal advisor to the Leader of Europe's largest urban local authority.
In February 2008, James was appointed as Senior Programme Manager to the Rt. Hon the Lord Mayor of London, based at Mansion House in The City. His rôle is to deliver the Lord Mayor's programme of promoting and representing the financial, legal and maritime services industry of the UK, both at home and abroad.
James was previously Vice-Chairman of the Club and is also an elected member of the University's Alumnus Association Committee. In 2006 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is a member of the St Andrews Golf Club.
Sarah Whitehouse

Sarah graduated from St Andrews in 1983 with an M.A. (Hons.) in English Language and Literature. She worked in commercial and investment banking until 1991 ending as Assistant Director at Barclays de Zoete Wedd. Sarah was a Parliamentary Candidate in the 1992 General Election and undertook a Post Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Westminster later that year. She qualified as a barrister and was called to the Bar in 1993; being appointed Treasury Counsel in 2006. Practising exclusively in criminal law Sarah is currently mainly prosecuting murder cases at the Central Criminal Court.

Tom read an MA in Applied Economics at St Andrews between 2004 and 2008, during which time he also Commissioned into the Territorial Army Royal Engineers. On graduating, he deployed with 35 Engineer Regiment to Southern Iraq where he served as Reconstruction and Development Project Officer for Agriculture, Education and Marshland and Border Villages.
On returning to the UK he read the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP College. He is currently a trainee solicitor at Irwin Mitchell LLP.
Tom joined the St Andrews Alumni Club London Committee as Treasurer in 2010. He also serves on committees for Street Child of Sierra Leone and the Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship.

Katrina graduated from St Andrews in 2006 with an M.A. in International Relations. She subsequently moved to London to study for an M.A. in International Security at King's College London. Following the completion of her postgraduate studies at KCL, Katrina commenced work as a research analyst at Jane's Information Group. Katrina is currently employed by the Cabinet Office as a policy adviser

Daniel Rossall Valentine
Committee Member
Daniel graduated in economics from St. Andrews in 2000. He is a faculty
member of one of London's leading business schools, and an associate at a PR
and business strategy consultancy. Before his academic career, Daniel worked
fulltime in Financial Communications, most recently as Head of Investor
Relations or a FTSE 100 company.
Daniel is on the Conservative Party's Parliamentary Candidates Approved
List, is a former Bow Group Council officer, and is also a Member of the
Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the Chartered Institute of Marketing
(CIM), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the
Investor Relations Society (IRS). He has spoken at management conferences in
London, Dubai and Moscow.
Amelia Bunce

Amelia graduated from St Andrews in 2011 with an M.A. in International Relations specialising in International Security. During her time at St Andrews, Amelia was involved in the 600th Anniversary campaign in her capacity as Principal Ambassador.
Following graduation, Amelia began working for the University of Cambridge Admissions Office as a Schools and Colleges Liasion Officer.
Amelia joined the Alumni Club in May 2012.
Lynne Peabody

Lynne studied Modern History at St Andrews, graduating in 2006. She now lives in London and works in corporate responsibility for Hogan Lovells LLP. She is currently helping the alumni organise a 600th anniversay May Ball event scheduled for 2012.
