This simulation models single pass amplification of a plane wave in a three or four level medium. Spatially dependent saturation of the gain by the signal, and saturation of the pump absorption due to population redistribution are both taken into account. Users can vary intensities, lengths, etc, to explore appropriate parameter ranges. Important data sets are included.
