Will Maclean trained at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen. He has explored subjects from Highland life and culture.
His interest in prehistory and Celtic myth is echoed in the subject of Bird Altar . This subject is concerned with the worship of animal gods and animal spiritualism and is based on mysterious archaeological finds from the far north of Scotland.
