Welcome

Welcome to the mm-wave pages of the Millimetre Wave and High-Field EPR group in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. Millimetre waves occupy the region of the electromagnetic spectrum bewteen microwaves and the infrared. A relatively unsung part of the spectrum, they are nevertheless useful for many applications, from imaging through clouds or clothing to spectrometry of a wide range of materials and systems.

At St Andrews, we undertake mm-wave research in a diverse range of topics. An introduction to these is presented here, with more description of specific projects. Another set of pages devoted to our EPR research can be found on the menu or here. General enquiries should be directed to the group leader, Dr Graham Smith. Details of group personnel can be found here.

Our old group web site, which still contains a great deal of interest may be found here.
