An Introductory Reading List in Social and Environmental Accounting

CSEAR receives many requests for advice on what to read as an introduction to social and environmental accounting and reporting for teaching, for practice and for research. Below we offer some suggestions.

The suggestions are, of course, personal but should help individuals begin to engage with the appropriate literature. CSEAR is happy to supply further advice to members but please, keep requests for advice as specific as possible - or else visit the Centre and browse the library. For further information, the references given at the end of each of the papers and books is typically the best place to begin.

The following suggestions are organised into two broad groups. First there is a series of "Introductions to...". These are followed by suggestions on more specific topics.

Any thoughts or suggestions you have on the recommendations and their organisation will be gratefully received.
