Staff Art Group
Fancy doing a bit of drawing and painting in a beautiful and interesting setting whilst sipping on wine, nibbling on cheese and meeting staff and postgraduates from other departments?
The ‘Doing Art in the Bell Pettigrew’ Society (tenuously shortened to ‘DABS’) is about to enter its third year and would be glad to hear from anyone who might be interested in coming along to our fortnightly evening art sessions in the University’s natural history museum, the Bell Pettigrew.
The group usually meets on a Tuesday evening between 7 and 10pm, beginning with wine, cheese and a chat, before gradually dispersing around the museum to draw or paint whatever takes their fancy.
It is a very informal, bring-your-own-materials, affair for anyone who enjoys drawing and painting. You definitely don’t have to be an accomplished artist, just someone who finds it fun or relaxing to draw. Postgraduates and staff from any school would be welcome – after all, the Bell Pettigrew is where art and science collide!
