Host Institution Procedures
Remember, if you are studying abroad, your host institution will expect you to complete and return their application for admission, an accommodation application (if relevant) and any other documents for exchange students. Check your host institution's website for details and to ensure you don't miss important deadlines.

1. Study Abroad Pre-departure Agreement (S2) (Word, 98 KB)
| What? | Please complete and sign to confirm that you agree to the Study Abroad Terms & Conditions (PDF, 205 KB) . |

| When? |
Final deadline: end of May before you go abroad for Semester One and full year study abroad students; or by Friday of Week 13 in Semester One for Semester Two study abroad students. Please note that your permission to go abroad is conditional upon your agreement of the Study Abroad Terms & Conditions. |
2. Learning Agreement (PDF, 207 KB)
| What? | Discuss with your Study Abroad Co-ordinator before leaving St Andrews and ensure wherever possible that you select modules to study at your host institution prior to departure. Should you make any changes once abroad, please complete the relevant section of the form and arrange to have it signed again. See Learning Agreement for further guidance. |
| Who? | All students EXCEPT those on Damascus or RLUS programmes. |
| When? | Final deadline: by the end of the fourth week of your placement abroad BUT before you go if possible. Please note the serious consequences, detailed at the above weblink, of failure to return an approved Learning Agreement by this deadline. |
| What? | This will be emailed to you in August. In signing your personalised contract, you are agreeing to meet the obligations of the placement period stated and to return all documents by the stipulated deadlines to avoid any delay in the payment of your Mobility Grant. |
| Who? | Erasmus students only. |
| When? | Final deadline: no later than four weeks after receipt of Mobility Contract via email. Please note that the University will be unable to pay your grant without receipt of your signed contract. |
4. Student Acknowledgement of Receipt of Grant (Word, 99 KB) Receipt of Grant (Word, 98 KB)
| What? | Please use this form to acknowledge receipt of your Erasmus grant. It is important that you ensure that the dates of departure and return on this document match the period of study/ work stated on your Mobility Contract as this is the period for which the grant has been awarded, and the receipt forms will be held for audit purposes. |
| Who? | Erasmus students only. |
| When? | On receipt of each Erasmus grant payment. Final deadline: four weeks after receipt of grant. |
5. Certificate of Attendance - Study (PDF, 91 KB) ndance (PDF, 81 KB)
| What? | This form must be signed by your host university to confirm your attendance. |
| Who? | Erasmus students only. |
| When? | At the end of your placement abroad. Final deadline: 15 July of the academic session during which you were abroad. |
