Semester Two Welcome Event - Thursday 24 January, Upper College Hall, 3pm-5pm

The Collaborations & Study Abroad team is jointly hosting a welcome event with Student Services for Visiting Students on Thursday 24 January in Upper College Hall from 3pm to 5pm. We look forward to meeting you!


St Andrews Abroad Information Session

The CSA team is hosting a presentation on opportunities for undergraduate students to spend a semester/ year at a St Andrews Abroad partner institution.  The presentation will take place on Wednesday 10 October at 2pm in Purdie Lecture Theatre A, and will cover application, eligibility, academic information and funding. St Andrews students who studied abroad last year, as well as current exchange students from our partners, will be available to answer your questions.  Come along and find out more!


British Council's Erasmus Ambassador Scheme

The British Council is recruiting new student ambassadors for the Erasmus programme for 2012-13. The ambassadors' work helps to promote the Erasmus programme to wider audience. Please see the following document for more information: Erasmus Ambassador post (Word, 1,299 KB) 


North American Academic Culture Session

All students studying abroad in North America for the next academic year are invited to attend the North American Academic Culture Session. We have a special speaker who is familar with the academic culture, including teaching and learning styles, in North America. As such, the session will cover some of the key academic differences that St Andrews students should expect to encounter. Please come prepared with any questions you may have about your time abroad. Date and place TBD.


TEFL Meeting

All Modern Languages Students who intend to undertake a British Council Language Assistantship in the next academic year are invited to attend an informal reception, date and place TBD. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet other students who have completed the WIYA programme and to ask any questions you may have about TEFL. Food and drinks will be served. We hope you can join us!


Study Abroad Pre-Departure Briefing

All students studying or working abroad (or on placement in the UK) for credit are required to attend a Study Abroad Pre-Departure Briefing. This meeting will be in April in the Buchanan Lecture theatre. Students will be provided with essential information from Registry, Finance, the Proctor's Office and Student Services. Attendance at the pre-departure meeting is compulsory - students who do not attend and do not provide an adequate explanation as to why they cannot attend will have their permission to participate in their external programme withdrawn.  Full details of the meeting, including an agenda, are available here.


Farewell Reception

The CSA team is delighted to invite 2012/3 non-graduating students (exchange and study abroad) to a Farewell Reception, date and place TBD. This event will be a wonderful capstone to your time abroad as well as an opportunity to engage with other students. Winners of the Photo Competition will also be announced. Refreshments will be served. Further details will be e-mailed to relevant students in due course. We would love to see you there!


Canadian Bobby Jones Lunch

All students studying abroad at Queen's University and the University of Western Ontario for the 2013/4 academic year, and students who are from these universities and currently studying at the University of St Andrews, are warmly invited to attend a lunch hosted by the Principal at University House, time and date TBD. Further details will be e-mailed to relevant students.
