Dates and deadlines
Complete applications are considered on a rolling basis from the application opening date until the application deadline. You may normally expect to hear from us within four weeks of submitting a complete application.
The opening dates and application deadlines are as follows:
September entry
Opening date: 15 February
Application deadline: 15 April
January entry
Opening date: 1 September
Application deadline: 31 October

Please download and complete our Application Form (Word, 157 KB) and return it via email to studyabroad@st-andrews.ac.uk (available here shortly).
Supplementary information
In addition to your Application Form, it is important that you submit appropriate supplementary information by the above deadlines. This includes:
An up to date and official academic transcript
Please ask your home institution to email us your transcript. Alternatively, you can send a hard copy to us at the address in the right hand column of this page.
It is important that we receive all pages of your transcript, including the transcript guide/key, which is often on the reverse of a transcript.
Please ensure that you include transcripts for time spent at other universities, if relevant - either during your current degree programme, or, in the case of postgraduate applicants, your undergraduate degree.
An academic reference
You may send us this directly via email with your Application Form if the reference is in the form of a signed attachment on letterhead. Alternatively, please ask your referee to email us directly.
Proof of English language ability, if appropriate
If your first language is not English, you must submit to us evidence of your English language proficiency. See Entry requirements for further information.
Step-by-step
Step One
Discuss your application with your home institution. Please note that, if you are applying through a partner, we will liaise with them about your application. If you are applying to the Exchange Programme, you must be nominated by your home university.
Some partners will collect applications from students and submit them to us on your behalf; others will expect you to apply directly. Please discuss wih your home university if you are unsure about this process.
Step Two
Please read the information on our website carefully, particularly the information under Entry requirements and Academic information.
Step Three
Download and complete the Application Form. Please keep the Form in Word format if possible.
Step Four
Please return your completed Application Form to us via email (studyabroad@st-andrews.ac.uk), and ensure that all supplementary information, as listed above, is submitted to us by the application deadline. Please do not submit duplicate information.
