- Students must enrol in a full-time course load, normally 60 credits (30 ECTS credits) per semester.
- As an Exchange or Study Abroad student, you may be able to take modules from faculties other than your own (except Medicine) where the timetable allows and where you have the appropriate background.
- If you are attending St Andrews through a subject-specific exchange programme, you are expected to take at least one module per semester in the subject of the exchange.
- If you are considering modules at 3000 level or above, you should have significant background knowledge of the subject (usually two years of study at university).
- Some modules at 1000 level require specific background knowledge. For example, 1000 level French modules are aimed at students who have studied French to an advanced level at school. Several Science modules at 1000 level also presume significant study of the subject at school. Students who wish to take modules in the School of Physics & Astronomy should consult the School's web information for Exchange and Study Abroad students to ensure they have the appropriate background for Physics modules.
- Please note: module enrolments are finalised during academic advising, when you will meet with advisers. This is a compulsory part of registration.
