The Open Association offers courses for people who wish to learn new things or hone existing skills in a range of areas. This coming year sees a return of some much loved classes; including Short Courses in Exploring the World of Opera and Life Drawing, as well as the popular Retirement is Opportunity programme.
In addition to the return of our established subjects, this programme introduces a number of new courses for 2014-2015. We are able to offer new courses including Astronomy, Art History, Medical Breakthroughs, Pilates and Yoga. Other new options involve theatre study including a theatre visit, a study of local architecture and an investigation of the potteries of Fife.
The Friday Evening Lecture series is also set to return, with speakers from both the University and further afield preparing to present a fascinating series of lectures. You can now choose to purchase attendance at all lectures, or blocks of three or six. With topics ranging from ‘The treatment of brain tumours’ through to ‘Seals in Scotland’, we hope that this will allow more people to attend the lectures which are of specific interest.
