The Sutherland Page Trust

Bursary funding from the Sutherland Page Trust is now open. The fund aims to support students who are disadvantaged and are at risk of being unable to continue their studies due to financial difficulties.

The trustees of The Sutherland Page Trust invite applications from undergraduate or postgraduate students studying:

  • Medicine
  • Law
  • Arts
  • Divinity
  • Science (Social Science and Engineering are not eligible)
  • Applications will also be accepted from those studying Health, Nursing and Midwifery, Science, creative courses in Media, Culture and Society, and the Scottish Baptist College.

To be eligible you must meet the following criteria:

  • You were born in Scotland OR have at least one parent born in Scotland OR have been a resident in Scotland for at least 3 years prior to starting your course.
  • You are an undergraduate having successfully completed the first year of a course.
  • You are a postgraduate.
  • You can make a case for financial hardship/support.

Applications will be considered individually, and the amount of an award will be at the discretion of the Trustees. However, the trust funds are limited with a minimum award of a one-off £500, and a maximum of £5000 per year for the course duration.‌

The university may be asked to provide a supporting statement for applications so please email Moneyadvice@st-andrews.ac.uk once you have applied to let us know you have made an application.

The completed forms and supporting documents should be submitted by (or before) Friday 26th May 2023, students will be informed of decisions and receive their first instalment (if multi-year) before they start back in September.
