Individual Learning Accounts - Part-time Funding
The University of St Andrews is registered with Individual Learning Accounts Scotland, which means funding is available for part-time undergraduates (daytime or evening) whose personal earned or pension income is £22,000 per annum or less. (N.B. those whose income is on or around benefit-level/Job Seekers allowance/ retirement pension level will still be able to benefit from the 100% Part-Time Fee Waiver . The Individual Learning Account scheme is for those who earn just a little more, or whose combined family income would take them over the threshold for the Fee Waiver. Students cannot apply for both the ILA and Fee Waiver in the same academic year.
- If you are normally resident in Scotland, have a personal earned or pension income of £22,000 or less, and will be taking fewer than 40 credits next session, you will be able to apply for £200 towards your fees;
- You will need to apply for an ILA (details below) and to have your account set up before you come to matriculate;
- For the ILA£200, you will need to inform the Evening Degree Co-ordinator (evening@st-andrews.ac.uk) (as soon as you can) of your ILA number and the module you wish to use it for; you will then be booked into the ILA system for that specific module and sent a £200 coupon to be used in part-payment for that specified module; you will then need to sign and then present/send this coupon to the Evening Degree Co-ordinator in order for the payment to be set against your fee liability for the year;
- To apply for an ILA it could not be simpler: freephone 0808 100 1090, or you can request an application pack on-line: You will be sent out a form to complete and send back to ILA together with supporting documentation. This will need to be done so that all is in place for the start of your studies in either September or February.
