ACCOMMODATION BURSARIES 2011-12

"Average rent prices in St Andrews are among the highest in the UK, and students can often struggle to make ends meet.”

Students are able to apply for financial support for their University accommodation fees through a means-tested bursary system. The £1,000 bursary will be deducted directly from your accommodation fees. All students, including international and EU students, are eligible to apply. For academic year 2011/12 there are 60 awards available with an additional 10 awards for students from the “local area” (Fife and the surrounding areas). If you are a resident of Albany Park or Old Fife Park you are ineligible for assistance from this Fund.

In order to apply for the bursary scheme you need to:

  • Be living in a hall of residence
  • Be able to demonstrate significant financial hardship

To apply, you will need to complete this application form outlining your income and expenditure each month, as well as any financial support you receive from elsewhere (e.g. SAAS, Student Loans).

The Closing date is 5pm 21st October 2011, completed from should be returned by the above date to Student Services, Union Building or The ASC, North Street.

Student Services will then assess these applications, and allocate bursaries based on this information.
