I want to vote

School Presidents are a new initiative from the Students’ Association this year. School Presidents will be student leaders, representing every student in your academic School. Your School President will organise social events, work together with senior staff to make sure your voice is heard, and influence major decisions such as changes to the advising system, library redevelopment and semester reform.

Elections will held online and will only be open for 24 hours, opening at midnight on 21st October and closing at midnight on 22nd October.

Vote

Voting opens on 22 October 2010. Once open you will be able to vote at https://moody2.st-andrews.ac.uk/election/Vote

To vote, you simply log in with your university username and password, and then rate the candidates in order of preference. Each candidate will have a photo and a short statement telling you why they are the best person for the job - make sure you read it carefully before making your decision.

You can vote in any School you are currently taking modules in. For example, if you are a First year taking IR, French and Management you will be able to vote for School President of all three Schools.

To make it fair, voting will be credit weighted. This means that if you are only taking one module in a particular School, your vote will count for less than if you are taking all of your modules in that School.

Elections should be fun, but we want to make sure they’re fair. Candidates are only allowed to campaign in their School, on University property and online - this means they shouldn’t be handing out leaflets on the streets or putting up banners. We won’t accept any bribery, negative campaigning, or bullying. If you think someone is breaking the rules, let us know by emailing dorep@st-andrews.ac.uk.
