Family problem

It can often feel difficult to be confronted by problems in the family when you are living at University away from your family home. All sorts of issues and problems can arise which may seem challenging or upsetting. These can include:-

  • differences in beliefs, points of view or opinions between yourself and others
  • a family member is seriously ill
  • your parents decide to separate or get divorced

There are many things you can do which will help deal with these difficulties.  If your parents decide to separate or get divorced, it may help to read our self-help leaflet on parental divorce: So your parents are getting a divorce.  For other relationship problems with your family, you can read our self-help leaflet on coping with relationship problems may be useful.
