Prescription Medication
Q: My Doctor has given me a prescription. How do I get the medication?
A: Go to the chemist (pharmacy) who will give you the medication on receipt of the prescription. There are two prescription dispensing chemists in St Andrews:
- St Andrews Community Hospital, Largo Road
- Boots The Chemist on Market Street
Q: Do I have to pay for medication?
A: Yes you have to pay for each item on a prescription, currently £5 per item. However, if you are on a low income, you can make a claim for assistance with this cost and other NHS charges such as NHS dental work. Pick up Form HC1 from Student Services in the Students' Association building. Student Services can also help you to complete the form.
