Requesting a Leave of Absence
If you've considered all the aspects of taking a Leave of Absence and still want to apply, you must first make an appointment to see an adviser at Student Services. They will discuss the above points with you to ensure you have fully considered and understood each of them. You may need to consult several advisers depending on your situation.
When all points have been considered (and if necessary, permissions granted), your application for leave will be passed to the relevant Prodean. In some cases you may need to meet with the Prodean, or you may be asked to provide additional information. You should not approach the Prodean directly before meeting with Student Services.
If your Leave of Absence is approved, you will receive official notification from the University by email. This will confirm your leave, including the start and end date.
If your Leave of Absence is not approved, get back in touch with Student Services who will be able to discuss other options with you.
